Is Icon of the Seas the ‘ultimate family vacation’? It depends

limited to just one designated teen club. Instead, they will have access to various areas and activities throughout the ship. The team realized that teens want to feel independent and have the freedom to explore and socialize in different spaces.

One of the highlights for teens on Icon of the Seas is the new Social020 teen club. This space is designed specifically for teens and offers a cool and trendy atmosphere where they can hang out, play video games, and meet new friends. The club is equipped with the latest gaming consoles, including Xbox and PlayStation, as well as comfortable seating areas and a dance floor for those who want to show off their moves.

But the team didn’t stop there. They also recognized that teens want to be able to hang out in adult spaces, such as lounges and bars. On Icon of the Seas, teens will have access to certain adult areas, such as the Solarium, which is an adults-only retreat during the day but opens up to all ages in the evening. This allows teens to enjoy the luxurious surroundings and relax in a more mature environment.

Additionally, the team has introduced new programming and activities specifically tailored to teens. One of the highlights is the Teen Lip Sync Battle, where teens can showcase their talent and perform their favorite songs. There are also sports tournaments, dance parties, and movie nights, all aimed at keeping teens entertained and engaged throughout their cruise.

But what about the 8- to 12-year-old crowd? While they may not have been the biggest focus during the development of Icon of the Seas, there are still plenty of activities and spaces for them to enjoy. Adventure Ocean, the kids club for ages 3 to 12, offers a wide range of activities and programs designed to cater to different age groups. From arts and crafts to scavenger hunts and science experiments, there is something for everyone.

The pool deck on Icon of the Seas may not have all the features that my daughter loved on Wonder of the Seas, but it still offers a fantastic water park experience. With multiple pools, waterslides, and splash areas, kids of all ages can have a blast and cool off from the sun.

And while there may not be a dedicated cookie restaurant like Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade on Icon of the Seas, there are still plenty of dining options to satisfy even the pickiest eaters. From casual eateries serving kid favorites like hot dogs and pizza to specialty restaurants offering a variety of cuisines, there is something to please everyone’s taste buds.

In conclusion, while my daughter may prefer Wonder of the Seas, it doesn’t mean that Icon of the Seas is not the ultimate family vacation. Royal Caribbean has put a lot of thought and effort into creating a ship that caters to the needs and preferences of different age groups. Families with young children will find a wealth of activities and spaces designed to keep their little ones entertained, while teens will have the freedom to explore and socialize in various areas throughout the ship. Every family is different, and Royal Caribbean has done its best to create a cruise experience that appeals to the majority of travelers. So whether it’s Icon of the Seas or another ship in the fleet, there is something for everyone to enjoy on a Royal Caribbean cruise.
